Have you ever seen this photo?
We took a drive on 4th of July to a beach north of Gaeta and past Sperlonga to a place called, Fondi Beach. The batteries to our camera went dead in Sperlonga. We didn’t get any photos of Fondi Beach but there was free parking, free entrance and “free” Italians!!
The view from in the water, looking back up to shore, towards Sperlonga, was gorgeous.
Anyhow, we finished the final cd to Heaven Is For Real by Todd Burpo on the drive. We had a few chapters left. In the book they talk about a little girl named Akiane. This child prodigy has been and seen heaven as well. She has been featured on numerous shows, along with the show, of all shows, Oprah!
Her website is http://www.akiane.com/
She has paintings and drawings from the time she was 4 years old on her website! The little boy Colton, in the book, was shown photos of Jesus over the years and refused every photo he had seen. It wasn’t until he saw this photo of Jesus that he stood starring at it and then said this is Jesus.
Akiane was only 8 years old at the time she created this painting.
When we arrived home from the beach on the 4th we got on the internet and went to Akiane’s website to view her painting of Jesus!
Akiane’s mother was an atheist. She is not any more.
I have used this verse below on a blog, it is one of my favorites.
It gives me hope when times are tough and encourages me that living on earth isn’t the end,
it’s just the beginning!
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
