This is it, if it fits – it ships. I physically can’t fit the ocean, the sunset or a waterfall from Guam in this van. But I can, oh I can, fit my memories from the island of Guam and my travels around the world in it. Plus, I have plenty of room left for another trip or two around the world.
Thanks to my brain and external hard drive, my explorations from the past five and half years of living abroad are coming with me. Now I am not literally bringing my dream machine that is pictured above on my next journey. And if I’m being honest, I can’t say that I “love” Guam. I like Guam, but it isn’t my favorite place to live thus far on Earth. I do love that VW bus though, pictured above, and would’ve loved to bring it back to North America and make it my exploring machine. I’ve lived five and half years out of the United States of America and we are currently back home.
The people I’ve met in different countries and the places I’ve lived, have become part of my internal home that is transported by my body. In my 38 years on Earth I’ve come “home” with memories in my brain that fit a lot of life changing events. The cultures I’ve lived in and explored out of the United States of America, have literally made me a different person.
I have changed, but all of us, are ever-changing. I feel like my feet will forever have to keep moving so that my heart will keep beating. My thirst for adventure can’t be quenched. I’m glad this stop on our life journey for the next 18 months, is in the state of California, because there is so much to see and explore here. My time and energy from working behind the chair, will transfer from pampering others to blogging and writing the sequel to The Chopped Gem, called Gem War. All these places pictured on this blog, have inspired my fiction/fantasy writings. Today I’m sharing some of my favorite photos, of the 39 countries I’ve explored with my husband and my son. Well, two countries were before my son was born and Guam is a US territory, so I guess I should say 38. 38 countries, in 38 years, is a lot to fit into my virtual dream machine but it fits and it ships!
Mexico is not pictured, due to old school photos that I can’t find and are packed away. Finally a photo of and a welcome home, from my motherland, the United States of America! My country that I love and is filled with people from all around the globe. I am home…
